This interactive virtual showroom is meant as an introduction into tabletop roleplaying games.
The Idea:
A tabletop roleplaying game is played in the mind of the players, it’s all about the imagination and playing make-believe. We incorporated that into our experience by having a narration descibing what you should imagine as you go through the experience. At the same time, we reduced the actual visuals to fire up your imagination even more.
The Experience, a summary:
You explore a dungeon, finding notes from previous adventures, serving as the only clue as to where you are going. In this dungeon you will items that represent different topics of the classic roleplaying experience such as character creation, equipment and items, or combat. When picking up these items, you will explore the topic first hand and when you have entirely cleared out the dungeon, you have a sufisticated understanding of what tabletop roleplaying games are and how they are played.
The Production:
This experience is optimized for the HTC VIVE PRO, created with the Unity Engine.
Blender and Maya were used as modelling tools and the coding was done inC#.
Voice over was self recorded and edited by the team. This production took place throughout the entirety of the third winter semster from 2020 to 2021.
