Academic Prerequisites

For your application you will need an University Entrance Certificate (HZB) valid in Hessen. If you receive your University Entrance Certificate HZB only after the application deadline, you must submit the last two school reports. If you do not have a University Entrance Certificate at all and do not expect to obtain it in the year of your application, you may apply for admission based on outstanding artistic aptitude. Successful proof of outstanding artistic aptitude in the Entrance Examination qualifies for enrolment in the Augmented and Virtual Reality Design Programme without University Entrance Certificate.

Moreover you must give proof of English language proficiency through a Certificate (B2; IELTS; TOEFFL, etc.) or through an English grade better than average on your school report.

Application Procedure

Step 1: Online Registration and Submission of your Application

Registration and uploading of documents is done exclusively via our online portal: https://my.h-da.de.

After the registration you will receive an application number. Please always include this number in all communication outside the application portal.

As soon as the registration is successfully completed, you can start the application process.

During the process you will be asked to upload the relevant documents. You will also receive a link and password to our cloud for uploading the work samples.

Step 2: Artistic Entrance Examination

The entrance examination for the coming winter semester 2024/2025 will be carried out as an online examination.

The artistic entrance examination consists of two parts:
First a review of your portfolio. Second if the portfolio is accepted an online examination and interview will be conducted.

The three work samples should be related to the field of Augmented and Virtual Reality Design, such as: 3D experiences, concepts, virtual- or augmented reality applications, 2D/3D games, 2D/3D graphics , 360° video, concept art, storyboards, corresponding prototypes/physical models etc. Please make sure that all submitted elements and files carry your name and work flawlessly. Faulty files will result in an exclusion from the application procedure.
