Formal Application via Uni Assist
The application procedure for the BA Augmented and Virtual Reality Design at the University of Applied Sciences Darmstadt consists of a formal application and an artistic entrance examination which you apply for separately.

The formal application includes documentation of your educational level. It must be submitted through UNI ASSIST, the University Application Service for International Students.

Academic Prerequisites
In order to study Augmented and Virtual Reality Design you will need a valid University Entrance Certificate. If you obtain your University Entrance Certificate only after the application deadline, you must submit a certification of enrolment from your school and the last two school reports. If you do not have a University Entrance Certificate at all and do not expect to obtain it in the year of your application, you may apply for admission based on outstanding artistic aptitude. As the Augmented and Virtual Reality Design Programme is mainly carried out in English language, English language proficiency is mandatory and must be given proof of through a B2 Certificate or through an English grade better than average on your school report.

The entrance examination for the coming winter semester 2025/2026 will be carried out as an online examination.

The artistic entrance examination consists of two parts:
First a review of your portfolio. Second if the portfolio is accepted an online examination and interview will be conducted.

The work samples should be related to the field of Augmented and Virtual Reality Design, such as: 3D experiences, concepts, virtual- or augmented reality applications, 3D games, 2D/3D graphics , 360° video, concept art, storyboards, corresponding prototypes/physical models etc. Please make sure that all submitted elements and files carry your name and work flawlessly. Faulty files will result in an exclusion from the application procedure.
