The Tales of the Blue Dragon is a third-person action RPG created as part of a second semester T2 assignment. With a distinct Asian theme and built in under three months, the game delivers a compact yet immersive experience. The player embarks on a journey that blends exploration, combat, and interaction, capturing the essence of classic role-playing games.
The core mechanics include collecting items, gathering keys to unlock doors, engaging in dialogue with non-playable characters, and facing off against enemy characters throughout the game world. The gameplay culminates in a dramatic boss battle that brings the story to a close, providing a rewarding climax to the player’s progression.
The game design emphasizes a balance between narrative and mechanics, ensuring players are drawn into a world rich in atmosphere and interactivity. From environmental details to enemy AI, each aspect contributes to an experience designed to challenge and entertain within a compact playthrough.
The Tales of the Blue Dragon showcases Mykyta Pasternatskyi’s ability to craft a cohesive and engaging game world in a limited timeframe. The project stands as a testament to what focused effort and creative vision can achieve, even within academic constraints.
